DAY 01: ITALY – DELHI

Departure from Italy with scheduled flight to Delhi. Upon arrival customs formalities, meeting with our representative and transfer to hotel for overnight.

DAY 02: DELHI

Breakfast at the hotel and Guided tour in Italian of the old city, a charming and picturesque maze of narrow streets, divided into two parts by the Via dell’Argento, a colorful and lively succession of shops and bazaars. In the same area you can visit the Jama Masjid, one of the largest mosques in the world, built in 1650. Afternoon visit of New Delhi with its most important monuments: the Qutub Minar complex, the Mausoleum of Emperor Humayun and the government buildings from the colonial era in front of the India Gate. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 03: DELHI – PARO – PUNAKHA

Early in the morning transfer to the airport and flight to Paro, a town located at an altitude of 2200 meters at the foot of the Himalayas. Expected arrival at 09:25, meeting with our local organization and continuation to Punakha (125 km – about 5 hours), through the splendid natural scenery of the Dochu La pass. The descent among grandiose scenery leads to the Punakha valley , one of the most beautiful valleys in the country located at an altitude of 1250m with rhododendrons, cacti, orange trees, bamboos, magnolias and rice fields and where the most beautiful and historically most important Dzong in the country is located, wonderful winter seat of Je Khempo, Abbot of Bhutan Arrival in Punakha (1300 m.), the ancient capital of Bhutan. Accommodation in hotel (Category A), Afternoon visit of the Punakha Dzong, the second oldest in Bhutan.

DAY 04 : PUNAKHA – BUMTHANG (220km, 6 hours approx)

After breakfast departure for the Bumthang region of which Buddhism radiated in Bhutan (via Trongsa), along the way visit the Trongsa Dzong, a multi-storey building built in the seventeenth century in a strategic position, which overlooks the surrounding valleys, and of the Ta Dzong. Continuation of the journey, arrival in Bumthang and accommodation in the hotel. Bumthang is located at an altitude of 2600 meters and houses some of the oldest monuments and monasteries in the country. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 05 : BUMTHANG

DAY 06: BUMTHANG – PUNAKHA (220km, 6 hours approx)

After breakfast departure for Punakha. Along the way, if time permits, stop at Wangdue Phodrang to visit Wangdi Tzong (closes at 16:00). Continue to Punakha. Upon arrival accommodation in hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 07: PUNAKHA – THIMPU (75 km. 3 hours approx)

After breakfast transfer to Thimpu, the capital of Bhutan. Check-in at the hotel and visit the Trashi Chhoe Dzong (the monastery fortress) the National Memorial Chorten (Buddhist stone religious building which may contain relics, in other countries known as “stupa”), the Changangkha Lhakhang (“god’s abode”, more in general temple). Dinner and overnight.

DAY 08 : THIMPU – PARO (65 km. 2 hours approx)

After breakfast transfer to Paro, the small and pretty town of Paro has long been the political, cultural and economic capital of the country. Several trade routes to Tibet also passed through here. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel and visit the Trashi Chhoe Dzong (the monastery fortress) the National Memorial Chorten (Buddhist stone religious building that may contain relics, in other countries known as “stupa”), the Changangkha Lhakhang (“abode of god “, more generally temple). Dinner and overnight.

DAY 09 : PARO (Hiking Taktshang Lhakang)

Breakfast at the hotel and excursion to Satsamchorten and walk of about 3 hours to the Tiger’s Nest Monastery (one way). Located at 3000 m asl, it is one of the holiest Buddhist sites, it is said that Guru Padmasambhava arrived here in the 8th century riding a tiger, he remained in meditation in the cave for 3 months to ward off demons and spirits. Return to the hotel and stop to visit the Kyichu Temple, built in the 7th century AD Afternoon visit the Paro Dzong, one of the largest and most important monasteries in Bhutan, built in 1644 and home to 200 monks. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 10: PARO – DELHI – JAIPUR (265 km. 6 hours approx)

Flight to Delhi. Upon arrival, transfer to Jaipur, the Pink City. Arrival and accommodation at the hotel. Afternoon visit the famous monkey temple (Galta Ji Mandir or simply the Monkeys temple). Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 11: JAIPUR

Breakfast at the hotel and whole day dedicated to visiting the “pink city”, the capital of Rajasthan, a first-rate commercial and tourist hub, today a center of at least 1,300,000 people, located in a semi-desert area. Jaipur is striking because it is architecturally ordered according to precise geometries. It is famous for its pink sandstone buildings, but it seems that the name derives from an episode of 1876, when Jaipur was repainted pink for the visit of the Prince of Wales. The first visit will be made to the Amber Fort, 11 km. from Jaipur. The last part of the climb to the Fort is covered on the back of placid elephants to better enter the spirit of the place. Inside the walls you can visit palaces and pavilions of refined beauty and the small temple of the Goddess Kali. Then visit the city proper: the Observatory, full of exceptionally large instruments and where the “Sancrat” (the Prince of the Sundial), a 90-foot-tall gnomon, is found; to the Palazzo del Vento, which stands on one of the main streets of the city, a curious elaborate and imaginative palace but at the same time a clear example of oriental art also built with “desert stone”; and finally visit the Maharaja’s Palace dating back to 1570. DAY 12: JAIPUR – FATEHPUR SIKRI – AGRA (232 km. 5 hours approx)

After breakfast, depart for Agra, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri to visit the deserted 16th century city, abandoned after only 14 years of its construction, with beautiful red sandstone buildings. Arrive Agra and check into hotel, afternoon is devoted to visiting Taj Mahal, one of the seven wonders of the world, a magnificent marble dream that rises in the middle of a lush garden like a pearl in a kind of immaculate landscape. Its beauty transcends all description, built by the Mughal Emperor Shahjehan in 1631 in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died during the birth of his 14th son after 17 years of marriage. To erect the monument, precious stones of all kinds, pearls, corals were collected and 20,000 of the best craftsmen were called from all over the kingdom. which took 22 years to complete this masterpiece. dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 13: AGRA – DELHI (215 km. 5 hours approx)

After breakfast in the morning visit the Agra Fort, the ancient imperial residence of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. Half day departure for Delhi, on the way stop to visit the Tomb of Akbar in Sikandra. Arrival in Delhi and dinner in a local restaurant near the airport. After dinner transfer to the international airport.

DAY 14: DELHI – ITALY

Departure with a scheduled flight to Italy and overnight on board. In the early morning arrival in Italy.
