A particular journey to touch the reality of a beautiful country firsthand, traveling on paths still little traveled by mass tourism. A journey that ranges from the Himalayan mountains to the Chitawan jungle. A route designed for true travelers who love discovery and authentic contact with the local population. Day 1: ITALY – KATHMANDU
Departure from Italian airports with scheduled flights to Kathmandu with an intermediate stopover. Meals and overnight on board.
Arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, disembarkation formalities, meeting with our agent, and transfer to The Inn boutique hotel or similar. Free dinner and overnight
Breakfast then an excursion to Kirtipur, a typical Newari village of great historical importance during the Malla period. You will be able to visit the village of Pyang Gaon which is only 7 km away from Patan, where you will be able to understand the traditional way of life that still exists. Free lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon visit the city of Patan, the primary place of art, with its richly elaborated palaces and temples. Visit Durbar Square, the Golden Temple, the Museum and the abode of the living goddess Kumari. Finally, a visit to an artisan workshop where metal is worked and to the Tibet Refugee Camp. Free dinner in one of the many restaurants in Patan. Overnight at Hotel.
Breakfast and departure to Sermanthang village via Melamchi. The road is quite narrow. Then we will arrange the transfer by SUV. The village of Sermathang is a small typical Nepalese reality, where over the years voluntary associations have worked intensely in order to educate the children of the village as much as possible. The place is rich in local culture and houses are built in the classical Nepalese way. Lunch included. Accommodation in the guest house. Dinner and overnight.
Breakfast a day entirely dedicated to the discovery of village life. View of the Buddhist monastery where you can take part in monastery life and meditation. Visit of the local school. Lunch included. In the late afternoon you will be welcomed by a selected family where you will learn how to make some traditional Nepali cuisine. Dinner with the same family. Overnight in the guest house.
Breakfast and departure for Kathmandu with a stop at the beautiful town of Bhaktapur en route. Today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, among the most visited in Nepal, famous above all for its Durbar Square. Here is the Palace of 55 Windows built in the 15th century by King Yakshya and remodeled in the 17th century by King Bhupatendra, also of the Malla dynasty. The entire historic part is in Newari style and is dotted with several pagoda temples (including the one dedicated to Pashupati and that of Vatsala. However, the most famous pagoda is Nyatapola, built in 1702 by Bhupatendra and dedicated to Siddhi Lakshmi, the mother goddess of Tantra. he town is still an important Hindu religious center (its name means the city of devotees) and every year, in autumn, the Deasin festival is held there, with animal sacrifices to goddess Durga. Many elders in the area still speak the ancient Newari language (of Tibeto-Burmese origin) rather than Nepali. Visit Pashupatinath Temple, a famous Hindu temple located on the banks of the Bagmati River. Lunch included. Hotel accommodation. Dinner and overnight>
Breakfast and departure for Chitawan (175 km, about 5 hours). Upon arrival accommodation at the Safari Narayani lodge or similar. Lunch included. Later visit the village inhabited by the Tharu population, the first ethnic groups that inhabited the jungle. Time available for relaxation. Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Breakfast. Full day dedicated to jungle activities, discovering the local fauna and flora. Excursion and elephant back and by jeep. .Chitawan is one of the most important nature reserves in all of Asia. Covering an area of 932 km², it is the oldest in Nepal. It was created in 1973, and became a World Heritage Site in 1984. It is located in south-central Nepal, the park is rich in flora and fauna, including one of the last populations of Indian one-horned rhinoceros and Bengal tiger. The area is also called the “Four Mile Forest”. In the past it was used for big game hunting, and until 1951 it remained a royal hunting reserve. Lunch and dinner at the lodge. Overnight.
Breakfast and transfer to Pokhara (185 km, about 5 hours). Arrival in Pokhara and accommodation at Mount Kailash Resort or similar. Free lunch. Later excursion to Fewa Lake. Free time for a walk on the shores of the lake and for any shopping in the numerous shops along the lakefront. Free dinner. Overnight at Hotel
Breakfast and departure for Naudanda for an easy 2-hour trek. Free lunch. In the afternoon visit the Devil’s Falls, the local market and the Tibetan camp. I’m going back to the hotel. I’m going back to the hotel. Free dinner. Overnight.
Breakfast and departure for Bandipur (75 km. Approx. 2 hours), a splendid hill town, a true architectural jewel, and an oasis of peace. Accommodation at the Old Inn hotel or similar. Free lunch. In the afternoon visit the city with its temples and its wonderful views. Free dinner. Overnight
Day 12: BANDIPUR – KATHMANDU – PHARPING
Breakfast and return to Kathmandu (135 km, about 5 hours). Transfer to Neydo Monastery. Accommodation at the Neyedo Hotel in Pharping. Free meals. Overnight
Opportunity to meditate and take an early morning yoga class. Breakfast. Later visit the splendid Dakshinkali temple. Free lunch. Return to Kathmandu and visit of the spectacular Boudhanath Stupa, the sacred place for the Bhuddists, also used as a wonderful setting by Bernardo Bertolucci for his film. “Little Buddha”. Farewell dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at the Himalaya Hotel
Breakfast (if it is necessary to go to the airport early in the morning, breakfast will be packed), transfer to the airport, and return flight
