KERALA SPICE - 09 DAYS

In the southern part of India, bounded to the east by the Western Ghats and to the west by the azure waters of the Arabian Sea, lies the state of Kerala, the land of coconuts. A region, that of Kerala, famous for its natural beauty, with dense forests, verdant hills, and lakes surrounded by extensions of palm trees, rivers, and lagoons. This a short but complete itinerary for those who want to savor the natural and cultural beauties of Kerala.

DAY 01: ITALY – COCHIN

Departure from Italy with a scheduled flight to Cochin. Upon arrival customs formalities, meeting with our representative, and transfer to hotel for overnight.

 DAY 02: COCHIN

After breakfast visit Cochin, the most cosmopolitan city in South India: the Dutch Palace in Mattancherry, the synagogue with the Jewish quarter, the church of San Francesco which houses the tombstone of Vasco de Gama, the Chinese nets. In the afternoon dance show – Kathakali theatre. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 DAY 03: COCHIN – MUNNAR (145 km. 4 hours approx)

Breakfast at the hotel and departure for Munnar, a health resort at about 1600 meters above sea level, it was originally a holiday resort on the hills during the hot South Indian summer for the British of British Government. Sprawling tea plantations, picture-postcard landscapes, winding lanes, and tourist facilities make this place a popular place to visit and arrive in the evening. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 DAY 04: MUNNAR – PERIYAR (100 km. 2 hours approx)

After breakfast, drive to Periyar Park (Thekkady). During the journey, we will enter Cardamom Hill (the hill of spices). In the evening arrive at the village of Kumly, with excellent opportunities for shopping for Indian handicrafts and spices. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

 DAY 05: PERIYAR

Breakfast at the hotel and visit Periyar Park. In the early evening, a boat tour of the lake of the same name (with a good chance of observing many animal species on the shores, including elephants). Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 06: PERIYAR – KUMARAKOM – ALLEPPEY (125 km. 3:30 hours approx)

Breakfast at the hotel and transfer to Kumarakom, boarding the House Boats. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 07: ALLEPPEY – KOVALAM (170 km. 4:30 hours approx)

Morning arrival in Alleppey and transfer to the splendid Kovalam beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in India. Kovalam was a small village famous for its calm and serenity, and although over the years it has become a popular tourist destination for both foreigners and Indians, it still remains a splendid bay where the massive promontory shelters from the currents of the Arabian Sea and creating an ideal environment for seaside activities. Accommodation in hotel and rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 08: KOVALAM

Breakfast at the hotel and the rest of the day at leisure for regenerating and healing Ayurvedic treatments, or relax on the beach. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY 09 : TRIVANDRUM – ITALY

In the morning transfer to the international airport and departure by scheduled flight to Italy and overnight on board. On the early morning arrival in Italy.
